Really nice man especially the texturing work, i notice u can optimize that a lot better without losing any siholette or any decals for that matter like the front panels where the switches / buttons have wayyy too many poly's. Could also get away with reducing the spheres density on the top left and some other stuff. But…
I always seem to have problems with using layered shaders in Maya - big delays when making changes and so on, regardless of the PC I am working on. Lately, I have been connecting AO textures to the colorGain of the diffuse texture in each material with much faster results. I think I read that tip here and it looks ok.…
Looks good. Like Carlo_C suggests, breaking it up would add interest. I would just use decals saying "TO HANGAR BAY" or some stuff like that. You could also add powerboxes or surveillance cameras/turrets; junk like that. BUT, since your goal is texture practice, I think you've already accomplished what you set out to do.
yeah what is the best terrain editor out there?. I am looking for something that outputs to xml I am thinking of either going down the terrian route or building an environment in max and probably I will have more control over it. I suppose with good terrain editors like un unreal engine you can paint decals on the…
I would do in texture, probably layered material because it can be tiled in shader to get better quality than baked (though it would look less unique, some details could be sculpted... or these details could be added as decals, like the torn cloth) Paragon use layered materials and I like how good cloth look in it.
That's the aim. I wanna get a job at Turn 10 down in washington. And i know the first thing i'm going to do when i start getting paychecks is just convert it into LS motors and old sheet metal. So that's probably gonna delay the degree. And come on, y'all gotta model something like that. Rigging it along makes it…
in case you didnt notice the last decade: free market doesnt work, it needs rules and their enforcement. just because ppl will buy it doesnt mean its a good thing. if you let ppl decide what they want to buy we will soon have slavery reestablished :) thats the responsibility artists have to prevent bad things from happening
My game is now fully released and available on the App Store. In the end I had to give up on adding IAP. At this point I'm not even certain unreal engine can handle it effectively, but I do know that it would've delayed release for far too long. Also, any chance a moderator could remove the beta tag from the title?
@Stiff Thank you! Also, I increased the contrast on the normal map on the wall you mentioned :) Been a while since last time but I'll just keep working on this scene till it looks better I guess. Main things to add now is random junk on the street and graffiti and grunge decals. Just keep the critiqe going
Smaller update this week, what with the late update last week but got the remaining current props done. Now I just need to think of more polish that I can add to really finish it off. Will prob look into maybe adding those crystals, adding decals and thinking of props that will add some life into the scene. Artstation Link
