Hi everyone! I'd like to share some new updated renders on my progress so far. This project I'd say is about 95% done. I've got just a bit of polishing left to do, and then it's on to rendering out some camera moves and doing some post work on it for the final shots. I appreciate any feedback! =)
This will suck to hear, but I would say no. Your skill level is simply not competitive enough; your work still looks fresh-out-of-college level. Like Alex said, it also depends on where you want to work, and what you want to do. IMO that $800 would be better spent on tools and resources to upgrade your work, and the time…
While I do appreciate where you're coming from, When I say it's just a matter of practice, I'm serious. A lot of sculptors start with highly subdiv'd spheres. Taking a highly subdivided whatever and noodling forms out of it is hardly impressive. We can all do that (and anyone who's DLd Sculptris, played with Blender or…
when I check preserve normal, the process is very slow and locks up about 1/4 of the way through and I need to ctrl+alt+delete end proccess the Meshlab program. Disabling post-simplification doesn't really seem to do much, will still have overlaping faces, just in different places.

if you feel like you're falling behind, keep a journal so you can see the rate of your progress. You might find that you're actually accomplishing more than you think. Also with hard surface stuff like this, the last 10% of polish is really important; a darker cyberpunk, neon-lit alleyway could be a better composition fit…

You know what I've loved the most about this contest? It was a reminder of the old days, where Polycount was based around the PPM - plugin player model - for the Quakes and Half-Life. It's been a nice ride and I hope we can do it again some time. And with that, we now have just under 11 hours left in the Team Fortress 2:…
