The Brief
Another civil war has erupted on the Polycount forums. This time, two novice artists have decided to battle it out. Driven by the desire to improve their portfolios and create some awesome characters they have decided to make a friendly competition of it. Inspired by the epic Polycount civil war battle between Spark, Gav, Hazardous and Slipgate
http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1263475 these two novices have decided to make their own thread, where they will battle it out.
There will be no prizes rewarded at the end of this competition but hopefully the participants can make some really cool new artwork for their portfolios.
Both participants in this battle have agreed to create fantasy female characters that would fit comfortably in Guild Wars 2 or Skyrim.
The Specs
Both members will create a final image of their hero character while adhering to the following budgets:
-20,000 Triangles
-1 2048x2048 Material (This includes the character, weapons, gear, mounts, FX, ect.)
-The final character must be posed via any method (game rig, adjusting the actual model, transpose master ect.)
-Pedestals are optional and have no limit.
-Work in progress images are required and will be posted in this thread.
The Deliverables
-A final beauty image showing the posed hero character.
-Images showing the wireframe and texture sheets of the hero character.
-A sketchfab display of the final model is encouraged but is not required.
The Restrictions
The final character must look as if it would fit into either the Guild Wars 2 or Skyrim game.
Everything created by the artist must be original. Base meshes are allowed but the character must be created specifically for this competition.
All work in progress updates will be posted in this thread following this post.
Start Date: 8/21/2013
Deadline: 9/13/2013
Let the battle begin!
