Hey guys, last night I've got the students version of 3ds Max ...and my question is : how do I export the model from 3ds Max to Zbrush? I can import the model from Zbrush using GoZ but I can't find the GoZ button in 3dsMax :( Maya was kinda easy because there was a GoZ button.. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I have a low poly mesh that's been smoothed out in 3dsmax. I have no normals on that area now, but it looked the same way with the baked normal on. This is how it looks in Unreal: How would I approach this? Do I add polys or rebake the normal map? Or something else? I apologize for the noob question. Cheers,
Hi guys. I'm from 3AGAMES.I just finish a work for challenge PBR workflow.modeling in Zbrush and 3dsmax. All texture in substance painter. Thanks for Allegorithmic. Substance painter make my work much more efficient and high quality preview realtime. Here are the final screencapture from Unreal 4. Hope you like.
I created this image some years ago and just wanted to share it with you. It's not really game artwork but a 3D rendering about games! So I guess it's okay to share it here! :) It's called 'Back in1991" and it's a tribute to the good old days of DOSgaming. Modeled/rendered with 3dsmax/Vray and a little bit compositing…
Thanks for sharing =) Was just looking for a simple viewer to open some 3ds files without having to install 3dsmax, Perfect timing. Although it doesn't seem to show alpha maps very well, always drawing a black outline and with the mipmapping it just because a large black blur from a distance.
You can also set the priority of the 3dsmax process to low or as someone already pointed out the affinity to a limited set of cores if you have a multi core CPU. I used to do this all the time and it works fine. If you are running out of memory things will still be slow though.
Habit to Bake in 3DSMAX. I like to see the Red Ray Miss Check so i can align the cage better and faster. Other Places are fine. Its only the Picatiny Rail. Edit: The Rails will be covered by a Rail Panel and a Flashlight. So, should i make a bake in xNormal? ^^
Right now I'm working on some more characters but I want to learn Maya as well. I've always worked with 3DsMax and most Studios that I want to apply for are looking for someone that knows how to use Maya. So maybe I'll post some props mixed with my characters ^^
The highpoly was sculpted and poly painted in zbrush following their refence images. And the details(shadow/light, AO, cavity) baked in xNormal and 3dsmax. The final scene is a diffuse only texture with no light. i guess used a wrong thread title.....should probably change the title to something less confusing. Thanks
