I started work on a project to mix and match tons of concepts I see for Si-Fi rifles. Currently Just playing with designs. The main goal is to work on my hard surface workflow, slightly improve my design skills, and build a kitbash library. And give my self-something to work on regularly, (Engineering is a time sink in…
I think the saw(?) thing in the front is wayy to flimsy. It doesn't look functional, nor dangerous. It looks more like a radio antenna than a weapon. Even if you can explain it with all sorts of fictional technology, you need to make the right visual impact to the viewer.
I have yet to use Wrapit or Topogun, but I have used 3dcoat and Nex. I like how everything feels in 3dcoat, but Nex is more streamlined in the ability to use multiple tools at once with different keyboard/mouseclick combos. you can define new hotkeys in 3dcoat to compensate for workflow, but nex utilizes a lot more…
What needs to be created? I need a creative and imaginative sci-fi environment artist to help build the main starting base for the player. More specific Lets focus on a simple modular hallway corridor. Characteristics and properties of this corridor could be either shiny or used, damaged or new, what's important is that it…
@Roman_Lukyanov Besides overlap detection, Maya has a native way to offset the selected shells by 1 tile (or any fraction of tile). You can do it from UV Toolkit Transform submenu on the right side of UV Editor. Admittedly your script some extra functionality, but in 99.99% scenarios you just have to offset all stacked and…

Andreas, MaterialFunctions let content people build their own nodes. For example I built a node that projects a texture in world space from all 3 axis and blends using the normal. You could also build a node for a special type of shading you want to share with other people. Another useful aspect of functions is being able…
Hi everyone. Brand new to the forum. I thought I would make an account and post something I've been working on for a month or so. Any C&C would be appreciated.
steampunk speaks to the fictional elements of the train... right? RIGHEET!? also means everything doesn't have to really be functional ;) @alex 3d - cool stuff, but i'd play around with the size of the smoke stacks and exhaust pipes... make them different sizes and shit yo…
I asked this before, and was guided to the cut & Paste in Character Studio, as well as the "Character Tools". For the most part it worked sort of, until we found out that the "Cut & Paste fuction 1.) only worked inside one file, and 2.) Caused the files size to bloat immensely. The Functionality I need is what I had with…
