I have Maya 2016 and added your OBJ to my Maya, smoothing is fine ... nothing wrong .. I own MAYA Full, so not sure, may be a bug with Maya 2018, or something else going on..
Texture painting in Mudbox is absolutely awesome. And since 2011, it's even better. They added a ton of features that made texturing in mudbox even better. Hopefully we can expect even more from 2012! :P

I'm trying to snap the verts of an object to the faces of an object behind it. But it's insisting on snapping the verts to it's own faces rather than the other object (because it's own faces are in front of the other object). Anyone know of a way to have snapping ignore itself? Like "Constrain to Background" in modo?
