Looking for job opportunities in game dev. I would like to offer my services as a 3D hard surface artist. I am mainly interested in weapons, but I'm sure I can manage most of hard surface game assets. Take a look at my latest project. Also feel free to check out my portfolio: https://madfox097.artstation.com/ model
Hey guys, I`m wondering if there is a quick and easy way to display hard edges on my mesh in 3d Studio Max. Here is a screenshot from Maya to explain what I`m looking for. Top object, hard edges in purple. Bottom object, all edges. I`m looking for a way to toggle between these two modes in max or just a way to display the…
Thought I'd see what peoples methods are for this. When adding hard edges to sub-d hard edge models I'll usually do them at the end or I'll do them as I go along. If I do them at the end then I cannot see what my model looks like smoothed as I go along. In theory the best way is to place the hard edges on a editable poly…

Wow, thanks for sharing. I remember having to avoid POW when writing shaders for a mobile game, just using ADD/SUB/MULT but my blends ended up being much more fiddly and hard to finesse. Nice technique.
I created a mesh from a plane primitive and cannot remove the hard edges on its border (shown in purple) This is causing issues when I try to extrude and use smooth preview. When I bring the model into blender and clear hard edges I can extrude and apply a subsurf with no issue. However, bringing that same model back into…
