WIP #25[More textures + Some lanscape work] Made some more textures improvements. Also work a little bit with landscape, made roads and paths. Add some fx-es from different unreal packages: fire, god-rays
I am making a landscape autoMaterial. I have finished most of it, but I ran into a problem. I want the transition to not be a gradient, but use the heightmap to blend between the rocks and sand. I managed to do that in a simple material, but I can't figure out how to do it to the autoMaterial that is using a…

1st post on Polycount. I often end up here searching for solutions, so... :) UDk Landscape - I am no expert only a modder! I'm having problems with hit effects on UDK Landscape - that's one reason I changed from UDK Legacy Terrain to UDK Landscape. UDK blurb says hit effects and tyre tracks etc now work on Landscape. I…
After a long break, i was busy working and on my free time i used to improve the archviz the best as i can. The OP map doesn't exist anymore because i have remake it from scratch redoing many of assets, including a propper shore for lake and new rocks to separate the landscape from the lake shore border. i have uploaded on…
Micah - why don't you do something like the orange lines? It doesn't cost any more polies, and it saves you texture space. Christian Nordgren - Looks pretty good, in particular the last tree. The textures might be a bit too noisy though. RLPudding - I also prefer the rounder Herbert. iammalte - *sigh* If you know this is…
@ Leech When running the map on the editor in fullscreen (1080p) I don't go below 70-75fps on a GTX670, but something is wrong with the occluders I still need to fix that (sadly I don't find much information about those on the internet). The main purpose of this map is to get familiar with LODs and large environments…
Hey guys. I'm familiar with setting up landscapes in UDK with landscapes, and I realize the process isn't much different in UE4, but do any of you know of any tutorials specifically for UE4? I swear, with an engine they rebuilt from the ground up, you'd think they would've readdressed this by now. The easiest way to paint…
Update: Started the main parts of the environment using large props and simple props for proportions and how the landscape will look. For the sky I'm using Ultra Dynamic Sky plugin, fences and roads SplineToolPro. Now just have foliage and extra landscape props for more detail. Almost got it done can't wait to finish…
You should try to find more reference of this location, so you can see it from different angles, closeups, without the motion blur, etc. One image isn't going to give you enough information, especially when you're just starting out. A lot of reference is key! Landscape in games typically mixes two main techniques...…
