Maya > Mudbox I am building a heater like this (look attached pic). I am done with modeling and UV. It looks good when polysmoothed. Do I add in more edge rows to even things up before I export OBJ and open in Mudbox for sculpting? Obviously it helps even the sculpting detail. Just wanted to double check.
has it always been buggy like this. btw im using maya 2011. mirrored meshes sometimes becomes invisible where i have to reapply the shader to the mesh to fix it. and the most annoying thing is it creates a node for the mirror plane in the hypershade and the mirror plane stays after the mirror cut. why cant it just work…
I was wondering, what is the best was to set up your materials for a game model in Maya? I've thought plugging the texture into both the color and the ambient nodes would work, but that blows the texturing out. And viewport renders seem to go screwy when you apply an alpha channel...I think I'm missing something here,…
Do you guys follow any rule when creating bevels in Maya? It can't preserve history. At least not without causing all sorts of other issues, Any rules to make it easier to remember which widths to keep to keep consistent? Mine has always been 0.5, 0.25, 0.125. Anything extremely small is the same with an added 0. like 0.05.
Hey, sometimes when I use Maya on my Laptop it says to me at some point that I can't redo this step but after reloading or just some time waiting it works again. Does someone know what this could be? it's really annoying but never happend to me on the Pc only on my Laptop. Thanks for every comment ;D

Hi, i got a trouble with Maya Solid Shatter. My geometry is a closed surface, i deleted its history but when i apply a solid shatter with default settings i got this message error. Does anyone have any good links on creating a tileable animated water texture in maya? the end product needs to be useable on a mobile platform, so something that can be exported as an image sequence would be best. Most information i can find only yields water caustics, i need something more like a flowing stream
Hello! I'm trying to make the rivets on a Taiko drum. I want them to go around the cylinder as accurately as possible. I'm assuming Maya has some sort of functionality for duplicating meshes around a curve? Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks alot!
