I don't know how he did it but I would start with a plane with a nice amount of segments, make the holes, and then use a bend deformer with 360 degree, then merge the vertices in the seam, now you should have a cylinder with multiple holes that you can stitch to another cylinder

I realize this is probably is correct/expected. It does however not give as clean/smooth an edge if it kept the islands together in a cage. At least for my purposes. Hi there, Does anyone here notice that the "3point quality normals" modifier adds 3 new UV channels to your model? Usually channels 3, 4 and 5.
