Hello guys so im a blender user ( intermediate level i could say) im familiar with the program and i want to create "epic" western scenes into 3d more like backgrounds and etc ( it worked few times) however i always get stuck when i want to add characters ior animals i cant find a proper tutorial on it , should i try DAZ3D…
Great advice Mark. And to add to it, go easy on your Undo buffer if possible, as the cache can break the scene. Save often, and as soon as you notice something strange occurring save an increment and reopen the scene. This usually helps to flush the junk if the scene has been open for a long time.
@Bedrock Generally speaking, most the scene is actually blocked out at the moment xD It's a small scene. The only real things i need to add it are some tree's, and a mini church and these are already blocked out in my Maya scene. I just need to push those particular assets further :)
The Maya litspheres shader posted earlier seems to work in some scenes in Softimage. Applying it may result in an instant crash though (I think it might depend on whether or not the scene/mesh already has an image clip). Works flawlessly for importing meshes into an existing scene where it works though.
I have tested this a bit more but have not been able to reproduce the issue. A few more questions: Does this happen with every map type or only a certain map type? IE: does it happen with roughness maps but not albedo? Does this happen when a material reference is loaded, when using simple color values (no material…
I love atmospheric scenes, this is coming together beautifully. Maybe when you have time, if you could lay out your props for the scene and some texture samples? I'm curious as to how modular this scene is, let alone see the props individually (like tristram tunnels thread) :poly142:
Technically speaking everything seems quite nice. The only problem is it feels to me like the stylized and realistic elements clash pretty hard in this scene. I personally think that a stylized forest would complete this scene, or viceversa; a realistic house. Trying to have both in one scene is a bit confusing to the…
Pick a scene or concept from one of your favorite games Create a scene inspired by one of your favorite games Recreate a cool picture or scene from a movie Pick a cool piece of architecture Just find something cool that you think you can stay excited about and get to it!
Looks like a good start. I really like the concepts your working from. Personally I would prefer to see a daytime scene. Its a lot easier then to see your assets and how they are placed in the scene, In a night time scene a lot of your work will get obscured by dark shadows.
Yes, that's good advice from paintforge. There's nothing stopping you using that component in your final scene. Start with small parts, test the workflow. Make sketches and lists to decide what you want in you scene. Test tools like ivy generators to really make your scene pop.
