Disconnecting the LUT manually every time via the hyper shader became tedious I made myself a shelf button with this mel code inside: disconnectAttr file9.outColor MI_GenericUberShader.TEX_brdf_lut; Of course you would have to adjust it to your materials name. Surely some real mel wizard would also know how to run this on… -

3DS Max 7 perspective viewport issues
well I had to seperate models I merged into one scene a body and a head, go them merged everything is there scaled eveything to fit , and now when I go to free look in the perspective view it wont pan around the objects I need to reset the pivot on the objects im thinking but I dont remember how wow that was one long… -

Worked on modeling the body for a few hours today. I am up to 358 tris. Some things i noticed about elephants stances, their legs front and back come in at the bottom making them look very top heavy, and the back legs look more powerful than the front. -

Murphy7, thnaks for the post. Your quite right, thanks for the head thing, not sure how i missed that, i always worried about the legs beign over long but never noticed the head. I've tweaked the head and shortened the legs up a tad, ignore the hair its a dummy sculpt. -

I like the concept, a flying goat, but, the back legs seem way too large to me, makes it have the outline kind of like a kangaroo. I like how it flies and that from tome to time it falls down, nice animation. The only thing that bothers are the very long back legs. -

I think i know why you get issues on some gifs posted and it's because of your Mirror settings. You have Border attribute set to "Merge Border" but then Merge Threshold set enormously high (153) while it's should be something like 0.01. http://i.imgur.com/fu1Cvpr.gif -
Re: maya different ways to model in symmetry?
cool thanks, this tool seems to make things a bit easier. still wish there was some sort of "live" symmetry that shows what the center would looked like merged but is actually not merged. youd think maya would have resolved this issue by now or someone had developed a script for it, but noooo ;(
