3DS Max 7 perspective viewport issues

well I had to seperate models I merged into one scene a body and a head, go them merged everything is there scaled eveything to fit , and now when I go to free look in the perspective view it wont pan around the objects I need to reset the pivot on the objects im thinking but I dont remember how

shorter sentences? seriously it took me a while to realise you had two seperate models, and not 'you had to seperate some models'. Grammar makes a big difference!

do you mean the view has stopped rotating around your model? try selecting it and pressing z to focus on the object.

Hierarchy > affect pivot only > center to object

Make sure you're arc-rotate setting is set to "sub-object". This should be the default, in my opinion, but isn't. It's the second button from the right of the screen at the very bottom. Hold the mouse button down on it and select the last option.
