Yikes it's painfully obvious how freakishly lobsided my jaw is without a beard to hide it or skin colour distract from it lol, but a self portrait is a self portrait. I've been doing some skin pore work on it, it was fun making a stubble alpha but I'm still abit dubious about it's effectiveness.

With a few exceptions of painters like Bosch and Bruegel you can safely just skip to the 19th century and not miss much. Pre 19th century can be summed up as portrait of some dude, portrait of some chick, landscape, greek god, and Jesus x 5000.
So in an effort to become really good at portraits I'm undertaking a 100 portrait challenge, hoping to do one or two a day - not finished polished renders just 30-60min sketches.
