Distort a texture correctly
Hey guys, I'm trying to achieve a distorted texture effect using a radial gradient. The effect i'm going for is a sort of paper weight magnification, however it produces this nasty ring effect, (The source texture that is previewing is the mountain texture shown above it.) What am I missing here?! -

Working on different attacks with varying wind up times and strengths. always a telegraph so people can dodge them (since melee isn't the only form of danger players have to manage - in regular beat em ups usually enemies have a no telegraph quick snap that you only avoid by not sitting there in range or hitting first)… -

Re: Poly count for hand grenades?
Your topology is still really inconsistent, lots of "wasted" edges. Why the ring around each hole? Why continue loops through flat areas? Curved details on top area have way more edges than curves below. Etc. -

you mean the smooth brush? does pretty much what you want really.. (press shift in any brush,then paint/stroke,identified by the focal ring turning blue,and you can alter size /strength as usual) -

Ah i see, and since the right side wont be seen all to much, i guess a symmetry would work fine. btw any reason you left out the ring at the bottom of the grip? PJ's are busted still ;) -

Textures are excellent. For the model why not have more uniform geo? You could have rings going around where each stone segment is. You would probably pull your tri count way down too. -

I haven't laughed that hard in ages. I would suggest looking at the game Dante's Inferno. It's levels are based on the 7 deadly sins (or the 7 rings of hell... I forget). Pretty interesting concepts. Might inspire you. -
