A game character i do for some indie Diablo3 like game. Some texture bump detail without specular. I used two 1024*1024 textures, one for character another for accessories. What do you think as i am more amateur than lot of people here ?
Hi, this is my first environment, hopefully it will be easier to get into the industry than with character stuff. Any help on how I can improve it will be really appreciated. 5075 polygons. 14x 512 maps, 1x 1024 and 1x 512 by 256. Made in Max, no lights. the 1024 is the road. The model is based on a photo.
If I were in your shoes, I would just straight up low poly model it and then paint everything in the diffuse map. The contest rules say one 1024 x 1024 for the finished character, so I would follow that.

Im not sure 100% what you're getting at but your larger props can be 1024 maps and your small props could be 512 maps to keep texture density roughly even across the scene (4 512 maps in 1 1024).
cody: I stuck about 40 different weeds on one 1024. I went with a 2048 at first and relized the plants were just to pixelated..dropping to a 1024 witha bicubic soften in PS soften them up perfectly...in my eyes.
