I used two 1024*1024 textures, one for character another for accessories.
What do you think as i am more amateur than lot of people here ?

I think your modeling is okay but your texture needs a lot of work right now. You should try testing colors before applying textures. Green/yellow/grey is pretty weird. Especially that yellow buckle.
    How do you texture? Photoshop?

I used CgTextures diffuse than create normal map from it and used that as texture material brushes in 3D Coat.
Perhaps its 'not the best way ?
I also painted maually some areas using a darken brush to simulate more AO and i tried to paint some dirt also on clothes.

Here is the first color set i choosen :

These colors was to differentiate for the player character from brown and dark floors. But you are right the yellow buckle is too apparent, perhaps some leather material style on other color. The grey is for the mummy bandages perhaps more white or dark style bandages ?

I changed to a new colorset.

It's top down RPG game , character using magic powers also, so colors can be somewhat original. What do you think ? Better ideas ?

    Hey man.
So I was actually liking the second one. I get that you want it to pop but you should find other ways than making the guy look so colorful. The last version has way too much colors. Perhaps you can keep the purple, but then tone the rest down, putting some grey, black, dark colors on the rest and see how that goes.
My advice is: if u really want to use a really strong color, use just one. Purple, green, yellow, orange, you don't want him to look like a rainbow.

Also why don't you use Z brush for the detailing and polypainting? Maybe it would be easier for you.

Also I think you should take a screen of your character, put it into photoshop, and then apply some colors on him to define what you really want. Do a lot of tests that you like, even roughly, save it all then post it there and then choose.

That's a good advice about taking him into photoshop and try and figure out color scheme before
you go and put color into texture so you don't waste time, and end up disliking the results.

Also it may be just me but from what i see the light is coming from below right ?
And if you are using normal maps they may be flipped on the torso, those bandages look like they
are pushing in the torso rather than building up and going away from body ( if i said that right :) ).
