[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] In a game engine or in a 3d package for rendering? In an engine you can use a double spec (works well on hair too). One highlight is tight, and the other spread out. [/ QUOTE ] aw man! i thought i was being clever! there's a name for it and everything? fack, u guys r 2 good 4 me! seeing other game…
I'm enjoying this a lot! Your texture work is really pretty. Definitely keep working on the lighting as you go, post pro is of the utmost importance (volume. heh. heh. HEH.) Try moving the light out a bit more like in the concept where it just highlights the mid/bottom left. Push the contrast a whole lot more, add low…
Yeah I've been using just a simple Standard Mat for all the renders with just some slight spec. and such. At first I thought it was my Mat giving me the problem but I've redone my materials several times. I have run out of ideas. As far as turning off lights 1 by 1 I have done that as well. If I turn off my fill light,…
Regarding next gen workflow, obviously the textures aren't handpainted from scratch, but there is still a skill in manipulating a photo and making it look good as a texture and not out of place right? IE not just a photo lazilly slapped on. The photos must still be worked on to a decent extent, or not? One thing I saw…
can you put the img reference? or you can't disclose that? Ok, right from the bat, your brick is indeed flat. You don't have decals on it, or try to break up that brown color a lot. Bricks are not the same. Grime and stains from rain collect on corners, or next to windows. Specially if there is metal around it. There are…
picked it up last night. digging it so far, but haven't played enough. i might hit up some people on the Polycount group list to get a game going Saturday night. gotta unlock that light body type!
Hiya guys, I've been trying to get my workflow for fly-through rendering animation down in 3ds Max and have been experimenting a lot (wasting a ton of time, mainly, but it's for a good cause ... right?!) and watching a bunch of Youtube videos. And while there are some good ones out there, they really clarify the process…
hmm.. you might not have looked into lighting yet.. but right know it doesn't feel like the light is actually coming from your lamps.. it's pretty bright and yellowish.. while your lamp's emissive seems to be completely white. I'd like to see more dirt on the floor too and specular variation, maybe some puddles. Good start…
With those old timey wall sconces-the light isn't ever pure white. They're usually a bit dingy around the edges, with a yellowish or 'warm' hue. That white white makes me think of florescent lights in a grocery store. Also, for the chess table-you might want to change the colour of the 'white' checks to something a bit…
