If you're asking how to achieve variation from piece to piece, that's where you'll have to use either decals, or simply use instances of the same geom. You should also think about vertex blending in UDK in order to really get custom looking sections. -

;) But yeah, still waiting for a sequel to System Shock 2, that would totally be my game of the year...decade, if they do it right. (and don't mention bioshock, its not a sequel or anything close) But favorite game this year...hmm...maybe Borderlands 2 and Tribes, plus TF2 with Bots :) -

I guess this could be generalized for any asymmetrical details on an otherwise symmetrical model. One idea I had was to have two textures and apply the belt as a decal with a shader in the game engine, but then we're talking about a second texture with the same UVs and a lot of empty space. -

Thank you to the moderator who changed the name of this thread. We have been around for over a decade and are not going away. There are 23 active people working on this project today. Many work in this field and are doing this after work. The need now is for an animator and a terrain/vegetation modeler. -

hey sakechi, nice WIP! I agree that the car is one of the weak points in your environment. Personally, I would ditch it. I think your scene would benefit from more "fill up" props and decals. Also, in what engine are you rendering this ? -

I've had some similar problems with contract work. I delayed graduating on the promise of some work coming down the pipe only to realize I spent a whole semester with my dick in my hands. nothing like what Jesse went through though
