Hello,
I was working on the Polycount colab but sadly it hit the crapper. I enjoyed working on a Character that Jouste concepted so much that I asked Jouste if he minded if I keep working on the model. Jouste being the Drawbarian and a nice guy he further refined the concept for me!

I think of a Tunning fork when I think of the weapon.

I thinking of a Log, How would you hold a huge Log. Or Superman when he holds a huge pillar. Thats what I'm thinking right now, but I may change it.

I think was originally thinking of having him hold it like a mini gun.

I've gotten side tracked and Started a new model. I will come back to The Bully in a bit. I started a new model because... well .. I'm A.D.D. ..yeah thats it.. Hell I almost started on a League of Legends model a couple of days ago..Darn that Jouste

Nice work! I like the definition a lot. The triceps do look a little odd to me, although maybe that's just because his body isn't exactly fleshy. Very cool looking model so far.

most excellent work bro. i do agree on the comment about him not being able to sit though.
if he had an underwater throne. it would be most uncomfortable to chill on.

I've reduced the length of spikes, twitch triceps proportions a bit and messed around with polypaint.

Yo man I checked out your protfolio, wicked stuff. I happend to look over the part that says that you should stop doing high poly and spend your time on low poly. I have mixed feelings about this though because the way tech is going, high poly will become more prevelent in gaming. IMO of course. what do you think?

@RJ Thank you. I don't remember saying that. I think I said I should stop trying to jump around programs and learn them. I took longer to do something with Modo than 3ds max. Modo is still very alien to me. I'm sure high is here to say, but there is something about a hand painted low poly that is very beautiful.

Really nice work mate. Loving the sculpt. Do you use polypaint just test out colour variations or will it make an appearance in the final model? Also whats happening with the other model you were working on?

I liked your old textures better though. The new ones are too messy for my personal taste.

@JGcount I've decided to repaint the textures since they just werent working. I think eventually even smart phone games will need higher polygon models, atleast thats what I think.

I'm having an issue in Marmoset, I keep getting lighting artifacts, they only appear when moving the skydome. Anyone encountered this problem?

hey Ark, good stuff man, shame that you shelved the Jouste piece but the other guy is looking solid. Yeah I have the same issue in the more intense lighting presets, blue sky, sunlight etc but not with dawn, night and the ambience settings, it doesn't show in screen shots though so it doesn't bother me tons. Would be interested to know what causes it though.

Hey Seth, I never said I shelfed the Jouste character, in fact I'm working on him, but at a much slower rate. I'll post a WIP for the Slum Bully tomorrow, right now I sleep. Sometimes i get the artifact some times I don't its weird. It might be a driver issue.
But the screens I got right now look good as far as glitches go.

Heres my texture WIP, the spec map is just a desaturated image of the color map, so its VERY WIP. I'm trying to get the color right any crits welcomed.

So far the only thing I don't like so much is the spec map for the body, it looks a bit plain. But i'm sure your still working on it. Overall I love the character design. I can't wait to see more!

@ artquest Thanks! Hehe I'm glad it seems like that, I still uncomfortable with Marmoset, but it coming along.

Np problem map the spec at this point is just a preview map, a desaturated color map with with a bit of contrast. It is just to have a spec map while i work on the color map, I dunno but any model with just a color map and no spec map shows very oddly in the previewer for me.

@Daphz: Thank, We are the same page! I was thinking along the lines of guitar inlays. (Mother of the pearl). I no idea how I'll go about it but well see.

Looks fantastic great work! Do you start your organics building a base mesh in max/maya etc, or do you go straight into a sculpting application to begin? Also did you create the concept for the fish creature yourself, or is this based on some one elses work? I would like to see the concept either way.

@Perfectblue: Thank you. I start in zbrush with some zspheres and eventually retopoed in 3dcoat with the auto retopo. I did a black and white concept, nothing great but it fun to noddle for an idea.

Here is a quick picture showing how the sculpt developed. It pretty straight forward. I did the belt in the same way. I hope this helps
