Hey, Does anyone know of a quick way to create weapon trails in Maya? I'm animating a hot with fast sword swipes and spins and I need a weapon trail. I could make them out of simple polygons and toggle them off/on but I was wondering if there was a better way to do it or if there was a plugin out there. Thanks.

hi i have seen that in max you can choose faces to do smoothing groups and then with chamfer modifier subdivide . In maya you can do it something like that i thought could be use hard edges + bevel only in the hard edges but sometimes give issues when i subdivided thanks for all

What's a recommended workflow for exporting a dynamesh that has polypaint on it, over to maya. How do you drop it down to a lower resolution or are you supposed to re topologize it first? Also how do you export the poly paint into a texture? Thanks
Hi. If I export my texture as mipmapped DDS from Photoshop, do I still need to set the filter type in Maya's file node? Should I set the filter to mipmap, leave it as quadratic or set to None?
