Hey, quick question since I couldn't figure this out. I have an interactive groom in Maya and want to bake that to a texture. I would need to bake diffuse and alpha to a simple plane (and maybe some other textures like a depth map). Basically, I need all the textures that are mentioned here:…
I am trying to render animation with Xgen Interactive Groom Splines. I use Arnold renderer and aiHair shader uses aiUtility with primitive ID connected to ramp for randomization the hair color. I have an issue in Xgen that my groom won't generate when set to the standard Generate Primitives mode: Randomly across the surface ( which I usually use ) but when I change the generation mode it displays the hair just fine. Anyone knows what the problem might be? It would help me a lot, thanks :)

Can someone please explain to me why the UVs for the Linear wire in Interactive Groom look like this when I convert them to Polygons? I should be getting perfect squares on my checkerboard not rectangles. This tutorial doesn't really explain the UVs at 7:30.…
With xgen you can generate guides from groomed hair that you can then use to place custom geometry. xgen groomed splines are essentially just bent cards with auto UVs anyway. The main problem with using them is a lack of precise control over orientation.
