Hey guys, I'm currently texturing a shotgun I modelled and notice there are white outlines around the baked floating geometry: I baked all the maps in Marmoset at 4096 and the outlines show up in both Substance and Marmoset so I don't think they are going to go away. I applied the same material ID to the outer area(gray)…
@2300511685 Correct, the round over in the third step was added with a non-destructive bevel / chamfer modifier that uses edge weights to control the width. If edge weights aren't an option then a simple loop path could also be used to constrain the round over. There's a few different ways to approach modeling lofted…
NPCs for the game "The Mobius Machine" from Madruga Works https://madrugaworks.com/mobius/ The action takes place on the Isolaria moon, a world barely colonized by humans in the past and infested of vicious local species which the player should fight while explore the abandoned facilities of the colony. Some of these…
trying to do it based on position, center, and/or bounding box is fancy but it leaves tricky situations like highpoly floaters, or 2 meshes with the center or position on same location example : a sphere inside of a donut the program cant autodecide which mesh the floater belongs to since pivot is offset quite a bit could…
Hey @Anchang-Style yeah its pretty straight forward for this sheet you want all your base meshes to be on the same plane when it bake and the floaters i have at the bottom of the sheet are still "base" meshes then i have floaters on top of the trims and floaters on top of floaters (floater-inception ahha :) ) anyway for…
I worked this up ages ago as a critique of another artists model, in order to highlight the points I was trying to make, I remodeled the whole thing from scratch. On the bottom image I pushed the floaters away from the surface where they where just barely hovering so you could see them better. The advantage was that I…
I agree those are low poly issues and I'm not saying never use floaters, I use them, they are helpful. I use them for stuff like the round indent here, where it's just easier to stuff a floater in a box rather than try and figure out the geometry and what to do with the loops. The problem I think this example would run…
