Looks like a great start! Im no anatomy expert but i think the hips/butt/top of leg are to big. Have you got some reference or concept your going off? Could really help us crit :) Keep it up!
I only just stumbled upon this over at cgtalk really cool digital anatomy painting (Photoshop) tutorial By Nebezial. There's quite a few pages....the majority of the stuff can be downloaded here as a PDF. http://www.elbandersnatcho.com/modules.p...nload&cid=1
Looking tight man! Good luck with those anatomy tweaks. ;) One thing that may or may not be worth mentioning is the shape of the foot-part of the boots. They seem a bit boxy to me, lacking natural foot-shaped contours along the sides of the boots.
how long do you have to work on this? I wouldn't work on clothing yet, the anatomy and proportion is suffering quite a bit. Step down in subdivision and work the proportions and main volumes out. Most of all pay attention to your references.
That's a good point. I've spent so much time working on improving my skin texturing and anatomy that I have neglected the rest of the textures a bit. Can you recommend any good resources on creating a variety cloth and metal textures?
[ QUOTE ] Regardless of what technique you use, you'll need to know your anatomy to be any good at organic models ... [/ QUOTE ] and, if using Maya, a plug-in or twelve ... Damn! on a roll. But, once again, only kidding for you Maya fans in the house
Solid looking sculpts! Nice work. One thing that's really letting you down now are your human faces, though. If that's something you're interested in doing I would suggest really buckling down and studying facial anatomy and structure.
its obviously still a wip so ill just point out a couple of things, the hips should be slightly wider and the thighs should be a lot beefier, also his waist seems narrow. here's a great hood anatomy ref image
Much better. I agree with squirmy, welding the corners of the mouth is a common mistake, dont forget the mouth is "O" shaped, but you need to translate that shape when it's closed, imagine an O folding on itself. That's gonna help for animation and anatomy likeness.
Are you calling this done? It still looks like a WIP. It needs.. Better renders. (lighting is a mess) Better texturing (skin looks like clay and give no indication that its flesh) and Better facial anatomy (the face still freaks me out)~
