@bluegoon: just import that Offhand weapon like you import any other items. Each items need to be imported and submitted to the workshop separately, there is currently no way to import and submit a whole set at the same time. The MDL files will be compiled by Dota2's importer when you import the items.
Just a quick heads up; i've had issues uploading to steam with the worhkshop frontend tool that's part of the KF2 sdk, but I've just discovered that leaving the "workshop preview image" dir blank allows the upload to complete. Not everyone seems to be having this issue but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Here is mine, I still can't upload through the workshop tool T____T, that is the only thing left. The SDK just keeps crashing when I press "Upload"...sigh....I may fail the deadline thanks to that buggy tool, but anyway here it is, I have finished my piece.
Hmm...I think the Rubick files on the workshop page are old. Looks like he might have been resized and Valve hasn't updated his files, same thing happened with Juggernaut and Earthshaker, among others. I would try scaling up the cape and reimport it at the bigger size
be sure to check the scale its 1 when importing the earthshaker model. if its not, change the unit when importing the fbx. Also some models valve provided on the workshop requirements page are outdated, you should decompile the ingame models and use their smd. Crowbar its great for decompiling stuff.
I see this question on the dota forum pretty often, and I always remind everyone that there is a totally awesome, and relevant Dota 2 Tutorial Thread. It showcases a lot of techniques, tricks and tips that tons of the cool dota dudes use to make sweet items. Hope this helps, and start a workshop thread!! ;)
Hey Anthony, glad you're doing this AI workshops are a ton of fun. Looking good so far, but there are a few issues with smoothing and normals, getting some minor banding. Also watch out for those tack on bolts laid over, they're casting minor seams around your maps.
hey everyone! I submitted with one of my characters for the Dota Workshop the option to submit animation is great! I will probably keep uploading them =] [sketchfab]d26281e06df24847afe970b914f7f3c8[/sketchfab] Dota 2 - Blurr - idle animation by tvidotto on Sketchfab [sketchfab]d6f037a8995a48eb982c7817da4c8035[/sketchfab]…
Witty! It's actually a valid question. There are countless workshops and talks held in related festivals every year. Books on it. It can be quite a complicated science to get it really right, and of course there are then many styles. So posting to tell people to flip that imaginary 'Imagination' switch in their brain…
I caught some really neat animations over the weekend so I hope they help you kick start your Monday. More after the jump. I caught a few posts on facebook over the weekend by a few Polycounters linking to some stunning 3D animation short. They were Bachelor 2011 film projects by students from The Animation Workshop. The…
