The Animation Workshop - 3D Animation Short Films

I caught some really neat animations over the weekend so I hope they help you kick start your Monday.

I caught a few posts on facebook over the weekend by a few Polycounters linking to some stunning 3D animation short. They were Bachelor 2011 film projects by students from The Animation Workshop. The films were posted about 2 months ago, but for those that never got a chance to see them then (like myself), here are two that really stood out for me.

Unfortunately trying to embed the videos into the post was disallowed, so I have a few screenshots from the two vids. Links to the videos can be found below the images.

I think their director, Bo Mathorne, pimped some stuff a couple years back from this project. It ended up being a banner for a while before the redesign.

They were both awesome! Can't it be people like these making feature length CG films? And the juxtaposition of watching them together really gave an even better feel for the darkness of Backwater Gospel and the humor of Saga of Bjorn.
