If you use Max 8 or Max 9 you can use the skin utilities. It will save the skin data to a new mesh, which is the same as saving the weight of the vertices by position.
With all the animation deformers, softmod tool, and sculpt poly tool you haven't found a decent analog to paintable softselections? Is this a Max 8 feature that I'm missing in my ignorance?
True, but my 7600GT ran Maya like a dream with no driver issues or anything. Pretty sure I was using the same old-ass drivers for like 8 months with that card.
I was wondering if ther is an easy way to export splines form max 9 and import them back in to max 8.I can almost do it with dxf export, but it doesn't optimise the splines, putting in every vertex
Does anyone happen to know if there are any really good Rigging tutorials out there for Max 7 or 8? A video would be the best, but if its just a website, that would work out as well. Thanks in advance! -J
On behalf of a friend of mine who did the switch before, here's a keymap he made to make that easier: https://blenderartists.org/t/a-proper-keymap-for-blender-2-8/
