Yess! My man! I’m an environment artist with a background in organics. There are not many problems left that I would not myself try to script around, but the biggest choke point for me has been retopologizing and adding UV seams to lowpoly organic models. I'll use these rocks as an example: When I do a highpoly to lowpoly…
We are currently working on a mobile game, requiring hand painted textures for our environments. A very light PBR look is acceptable. As long as it matches the rest of our game assets. We have around eight existing trees that we would like improved textures for: Birch Conifer 01 Conifer 02 Hanging Plant Oak Tree 01 Tree 02…
@Z0ltBa you have a great start to a scene! With the right lighting this will really shine. 2 big things that I think are working against your right now: 1. The biggest contrast steals the focal point. 2. There are a lot of different types of contrast. In your case the relevant ones are Value (brightness) and Color.…
What exactly is the issue? Your sentences are 4 rows long and you digress too much. I couldnt find anything on e3d except 3d printing stuff which i doubt is your end goal because you dont want normalmaps for that. Are you advertising the 3 point shader? I dont... You made a box, great!
I would say this might be an issue, regarding the bevel. When you have two different parts intersecting/meeting in real life, there is no bevel, which is why I would avoid a continuous mesh for parts which are different materials or parts. If you made it for printing though, I guess my point doesn't have a leg to stand on!
just some thoughts on the three: Printed portfolios can be the most memorable. business cards are great for finding folks on the long term. resumes are quickly lost in the stacks of things to read over the week. Just keep in mind how hectic shows can be so try to be brief and memorable. Swizzle has a good point about the…
You didn't realize I'm god? You all only came into existence from my observance. So yes, my point is A#1. ;) How about this. If this sells like hotcakes, I will print out this first page, cut it into shreds and eat it in a sandwich. I will even take pictures. That's how sure I am Im not alone in this.
@Twoflower: Nice! The colors are great and the background looks really nice. On the other hand you should observe the rocks a bit more. Some of those formations in the foreground look quite unnatural. Day 8 - Had to take a break from the deserts... I always loved painting ice and snow. This was just painted up in about a…
Hi! It looks like you may have made your model in zbrush, and the model itself is pretty messy, which is not helping you out here Things like this draw attention away from your textures and give the impression that you didn't want to spend the time to clean up the model. Did you do any research or find any references to…
Hey guys, This is my first time posting 2D on polycount :) I did an illustration piece for my portfolio to get it a bit more up to date with my current level before I applied for a concept art internship and thought I'd assemble a process thing Because I was catering to that a little bit I went for a pirate setting and a…
