I think I talked with them a long time ago..they have a beer keg on tap and are right in a red light district from what I remember...so you might not get alot of art done!:) Congrats on the new job and glad the confusion ended in a positive light:) Spark
He's right. While it simulates the same kind of darkening effect you might see with indirect light, AO not physically based at all. For that to be true you'd need to have it be derived from and tied into the same equations the rest of your lighting uses. It's totally arbitrary but it does look good in the absence of…
I was wondering how I can make these textures look more realistic. I’m not done painting this but figured I’d come on here and
get some advice. I am in Substance painter right now using a neutral lighting
set up… I eventually plan on bringing this in Unreal and giving it a warm sun lit lighting
through the window.
Updated her skirt (finally) in Marvelous Designer, though I think it currently looks too tight fitted on her. Might go and puff it in Zbrush and see how that looks...
Lovely stuff man, really great. Best of luck with your Internship application! I've got a question and a suggestion... Firstly, this may sound really odd, and I'm not suggesting you redo all the presentation shots since they already look great, but have you tried setting up the scene in Max using Xoliuls DX shader? I know…
Really interesting. Besides the fun technical limitation of these being vector- and mouse-made, I feel like such studies might also help with memorizing material rendering/surface behavior to reuse later when rendering concept sketches made from imagination. Cool stuff ...

I will use Unreal Engines Matinee tool to record the cinematic and upload to poly count through YouTube. The cinematic will be approx. 2…
Looking really cool! I definitely think you're picking up on a lot of things pretty quickly, especially for someone just starting out with handpainting. I know you're going on to a new sword, and I think that's probably the right call, you can keep iterating on your process from start to finish and what not. That said I…
Thanks for that! Sorry for the double post, and the late reply. Forgot to check back in for a little while. I unfortunately don't have any work saved. I never got anything I was satisfied with, and just kept restarting and playing around more with the brushes and filters but could never quite get it right. Not too long…
There really aren't any special settings for getting one static mesh to cast shadows on another, it should work "right out of the box" with any light other than a skylight. It sounds as though you've got your rug static mesh to bake it's lighting info using vertex lighting. It's one of the things that can throw off not…
