Pure wires are hard to read, it helps to leave the solid mesh in there to hide the backside. The face looks spaced out, might want to look into that (eyes too wide?). I've never understood the hate for GFWL. I own many games that required GFWL including Gears of War 1 which was supposedly "one of the worst" and I have never encountered a single issue with it.
