You can't live with 13 pounds an hour, you are making the classic beginner mistake of underbiding and not taking in account taxes, expenses, health care, rent, food ect. I guess you don't want to seem greedy but that's wrong , they are not your friends, they are clients and you just can't underbid because you are scared… -
Weird Max Baking Texture Normals and All.
Yea. Unsure whats causing this. Reset the xform on all. The cage is far enough. Is it the scale of the object possibly (ie my object space)? Shouldn't be because I baked other objects in same system (cm) with no issues that were smaller. Any tools in Max Im ignorant about that would highlight problem areas? Here is the… -
Getting good bakes from high poly cylinders onto low poly cylinders?
This may be perfectly normal but is there anything I'm doing wrong when trying to get a good bake of a cylinder? In the image, you can see where the low poly is still visible because it's outstretching the high poly detail. Is there any way to avoid this without increasing the poly count of the low poly cylinder? -
Why am I getting these weird lines on corners when I bake in substance painter?

Substance Painter baking AO weird issue (dark spots)
Hello I tried to bake AO with the default settings and it yielded strange results. it gives some dark spots as shown in the images. The only thing I changed is to "use low poly mesh as high poly" and size to 2048. Ps. I'm only using a high poly mesh (around 1 million points), as I couldn't find a nice way to obtain a low… -
Re: Sculpt multi res or low poly base mesh?
I'd say it depends a bit on what you are making. Ideally you want to sculpt from a perfect base mesh made for sculpting then retopo/rebuild a optimized low poly mesh that doesn't lose any of the silhouette and bakes well. Attempting to uprez a optimized low poly mesh and sculpt on it usually doesn't lead to the smoothest… -

Projecting an image from the vector of an object (camera or otherwise) is absolutely not limited to diffuse. You can project anything you want (likely through an extra UV channel), and then pipe it as a bump effect. I have no idea about Maya, but in Blender at least it will then bake down just fine as tangent normal…
