Hey hey, Been futzing about with high poly modeling and when I go to render my am. occ the floating pieces in the highpoly cast shadows. I was told by vahl that this can be disabled by enabling "front face casting" in the mental ray settings. However, I can't find this in Max. (Max 2008). Any ideas?
I've been playing around with mental ray materials trying to replicate the Red ring in the image, However I can't seem to figure it out, everything I've tried has come out looking too bright and lacking the proper material properties. I haven't run into this error until I updated to Maya 2016. Whenever I try to render with Mental Ray, I am left with an all black render. I can see my lights when using Maya Software. I have updated all my service packs and re-set all my preferences to default. Can any one help?
Hello! I set up low poly model and high. Baked using cage and scanline perfect normal map. When I'm trying to bake ao form high to low using mental ray I'm getting weird artifacts which are black on final map. There is no overlapping no inverted polygons. I don't know what to do, other methods also giving same result.
