Alright, second draft done. I'll talk about what I changed and what I think of it now, but first, here it is: Found him! She didn’t like the bed. It was tall, had very warm and very pink pillows and covers, and the side where her head would be at night was filled with dolls as pink as the rest of the bed. Yet, she didn’t…
Your lighting looks a little confusing. You have the moon which is your key light situated in the rear of your composition, yet the light areas and shadows suggest that the light is from a source parallel to the windows. The sun and moon cast very parallel lighting/shadows because of there distance away. Also if your gonna…
You're right Jeff, I'm trying to rush it. I'm never happy with my work, I could start this scene over right now, redoing all the assets, and still I wouldn't be happy. That's why I started at least 40 projects these last 2 years and I finished like 5 of them... finally I decided that not finishing stuff was worst than…
Alright dudes. So I'm making an 8-bit style game, official thread with all the pixel art and so on over at TIG SOURCE I'll post some of the concepts here as I go. So if you like 8 bit, 9 bit, 12 bit and 15.99 bit jump in and say hi. Any feedback welcome. These concepts are to help me with animation and will probably end up…
I would start looking more into learning lighting, that is the difference between an eh piece and a great piece and right now the quality of the lighting is what is dragging this piece down, which otherwise could be a lot more interesting. Here are a few resources that could help you a bit with the lighting. A few of my…
It totally depends on the object, how you're going to texture it and how it will be used in game. There isn't one rule "the game industry always does X and it always works perfectly". There are common practices that get used over and over again, usually for specific reasons but... ...without knowing any of the other…
so here it is! finally got the shots i wanted, the god beams have made a return. though not as obvious, i've adjusted the colors to make it less greenish, quite happy with the result few things that never got in were ambient fx like fog and dust particles.. i just couldnt get them to look right, i tried playing with some…
Loving this piece so far, gorgeous lighting and atmosphere. There's nothing major that's sticking out to me, only some nitpicky stuff. I've taken a stab at illustrating a few adjustments you could make. Not annotated in the picture, but I added some edge highlights from the moon on the roof of the centre building. It might…
Great project @srinivasjlkm! A lot of solid iteration at techniques. About 80% there. Couldn't resist doing a quick paintover pass to get it closer to 90% without much work. 1. Your fog cards were quite sporadic creating some muddle lighting tones and colors. Once cleaned up and colors and lighting brought together the…
The lighting might be better, but the post-processing is really overpowering to me right now. Before it felt like a stylized-but-natural lighting, now it feels very extreme and not nearly as pleasant to look at. Just my two cents! I'm a big fan of the colors present in the last version.
