Looks like a good start, Materials look fine to me, shiny polished stone surfaces lol, im guessing you havent added any bumpmaps yet, and the lighting is a work in progress i assume.
This looks pretty good, but the stone texture looks a little bit smeared in some places. I also agree with frell- a specular map could give this piece quite a bit more life if done right.
Nice! I was trying to adapt Sascha Henrichs' tutorial to stone blocks a while ago, but I couldn't get anything worthwhile, you've saved me and alot of other people alot of effort :) Much love!
Hey this is looking awesome! Really love the victorian style myself, so definately going to sub this! Also, can you maybe show your workflow on how you did the water puddles on the stone ground?
Hey ya'll.. I'm their instructor. This isn't a practice on design of the gun but more on if they can follow a concept provided by me. Its a modeling exercise, not a gun design project :P. They can't change anything, it is set in stone :)
not the best exp. but, try to plan it out this way. did it fast. But as the "sculpture" is the only thing that's unique. the Stone base it's sitting on, is the same on all directions. So measuring that way could maybe help you with the proportions?
Reminds me of the guy in 5th element, who comes to the grave where the stones are kept right in the beginning. Liked this because I'm balding and have a shitty beard, so I like seeing these kind of guys.
My first test from the bootcamp! A stone texture with some variations and one wood. Still got a long way to go but I thought I would post it anyway, crits would be extremely appreciated!
You're off to a good start I think! The stones in the background do look a bit wavy. They look more like cold lava. Or is this intended? Do you have any reference you are working from?
If you are limited to four weeks I would say the 4th one, the stone walls and floor could look awesome if you nail the material definition on them. That said its also the most generic of the lot.
