I would NOT want to be the investor who bought Midway. Trying to turn Midway around at this point would be no fun. I can't believe it's worth anywhere near the price, in terms of how much the franchise IPs are worth. I think Sumner Redstone is lucky to have sold it and it's gigantic mountain of debt.
They had the PS3 version on the shelves at my local Costco. When I tried to buy it the till computer started beeping. It took 5 fucking managers like 10 minutes to figure out that it wasn't supposed to be on the shelves, and they couldn't sell it to me. Bummer, guess I'll have to wait till Friday.
I figured out the problem with my lighting; Eat3D addresses it in the foliage tutorials but to summarize in it's most basic form, the material needed to be set to "custom_phong" and the diffuse needed to be boosted. Here's today's progress. I'm gonna get rid of those super ugly planes and just vertex paint the water effect.
Does anyone know where I can find some examples of good uv mapping for a drivable vehicle like a dune buggy or hummer? I am trying to fit everything on one 1024 texture map but I am having trouble making space for everything on one sheet and maintaining a consistent resolution for all the parts.
I only saw Signs once but the most memorable thing in that movie was the first revelation of the alien (kids party scene). The trailer is awesome. It certainly sent chills down my back...the owl... I wonder how real the nested footages are. It'll be a real bummer if they where fake, which knowing Hollywood...
@Democaliber , thanks for the reply. I'll look into this video tutorial and see if it brings me anywhere. It's just a bummer that my models are not properly modelled for xNormal to bake correctly, I guess. And that almost all the tutorials on baking are used with 3Ds Max, Maya, et cetera and there are none that explain how…
Oh wow ! That first one looks bloody amazing. I'll give it a whirl ! Thank you !! Oh bummer. I think it requires an active subscription to substance ? I own substance designer license on steam, but i don't think this allows me to use the substance automation toolkit..
Yes that! I knew it wasn't just me, surprisingly haven't heard people complain about it more. Well that's a bummer, I'm going to have to separate them out in that case. It's just another extra step I have to deal with in order to work with Maya. Thanks anyways though :)
I think BHG is really on the fence, they are still really positive over there and from what I gather they are trying to push a Q4 release of a new rts, though no info has been announced on it. I had no idea about IronLore, thats really a bummer. Loved Titan Quest.
Well if gameY got unbelievable good reviews and is getting great praise, of course gameX is going to get compared to it. It's how 'it' works. Good rant, but get over it. As for the MSN comments, I can relate to it. Although all programs mentioned have a handy blocking tool built in that should keep you simmer and happy.
