There's probably a script around on it, you'd just find the vector between the start and end points and move the intervening vertices to the closest point along that line. I could do it in Uscript, but no clue about maxscript. :( Renderhjs one of the resident script wizards probably has something, or will likely be able to…
Mirror mode is not a cure for a situation, when there is a topology mismatch or the mesh is simply asymmetric! I was very angry then I couldn't simply copy a weight of a specific vertex to memory but paste it to the arbitrary vertex on the opposite side of the model - max simply can't do that - the weight contains the…
Handpainting normal directions like that takes no longer than regular painting - all you do is paint in light direction, there's nothing crazy about it ! Of course quickly sculpting the rocks would have worked too. Knowing how to do both is very valuable.
the next part of this tut. sorry for this video being fast, i wanted to keep it short. this one ate my brain... :poly122: ;) there's also an audio bug at 7.35 min. two tracks overlay there. but no relevant info is told there. This video covers two mapping techniques for highpoly objects inside 3dsmax, and painting of…
I am skinning the character's mouth(bone base facial rig), and when I am trying to paint weight, the vertex moves... So can anyone help with this plz? The vertex are not suppose t move while i am adding the weight.... :'(
I've been painting creatures and characters for a while (you can see at my Artstation to get a grasp of where I am skill-wise) but I want to try something new, explore, and branch into environments. This means a lot of new topics, but that also includes old topics that I need to better understand like lighting and…
Hi guys, After my work on Varian Wrynn ( https://www.artstation.com/artwork/BVPAr ) I decided to work again on the hand paint textures.. I really want to improve myself so I started to work on Garrison from Battle Chasers. I'm a big fan of Joe Madureira so I'll try to do my best on this project. I'll use 3ds Max, 3D coat…

It's not a corruption, it's simply that at some point down the line, especially if you were painting with MRGB like you said, you've simply given those patches of the model a different material. With the exception of the flatcolor Material, what you see in zbrush is a combination of two things; the current color/polypaint…
