Planescape: Torment comes to mind almost immediately as a good example as well. IMO if you think all the stories are the same and are all bad you haven't played enough RPGs, or at the very least you've been getting rather unlucky with the titles you're choosing. -

If you're going isometric, you could do much worse than checking out Bioware/Black Isle's pre-Neverwinter RPGs: Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale. Or either of the first two Fallout games. Or Jagged Alliance -

You're missing out, Emil. Alongside Planescape: Torment and Anachronox, The Witcher is my favourite RPG, vast, vast distances ahead of anything released by Bethesda and slightly less vast distances beyond Bioware. A grim fantasy with genuinely grey morality. -

Re: RTT lightmap multiple objects in Max
The objects of the former scene wouldn't have the lightmap UVs so it would be useless. I don't know if autodesk has fixed this problem with RTT in the last versions of Max, but I think it should be improved because it's a important handicap in the workflow for videogames. Thanx anyway:) -
