Hi guys, When I use the paint weights tool in Maya 2011 the actual weights on the character aren't visible. So there's no white to black feedback on the character :( I'm in a student version of maya, I doubt this effects anything but I thought i'd add it anyway.

Depends on what you mean with entry or mid level, from time to time you see students that have clear skill and sense, and those can certainly get picked up without there being an urgent need for someone.
Thank you so much Eric. I hope this brings a bit of inspiration and encouragement to all those students and graduates out there looking to burst into the industry. It can be a tough road, but a valuable learning process and a fulfilling one too.
I wasn't using the cage. Maybe I'll give a try. I'm on my student internship in indie gamedev studio, model I'm working on is a part of project and I have no idea if I can share it here, sorry :/
