Recently just joined Polycount, I'm a beginner 2d artist that's currently doing this as a hobby. Any critiques are welcome since my fundamentals are very weak.
the term to google is "texture atlasing" although it can refer to more than just 3D assets -it also includes for example 2D game sprite sheets. there is a polycount wiki for this.
Huuuge pat on the back of Polycount. Lots of great entries this competition. Vagabond guy in 2D is excellent, awesome without being "epic" (huge, explosions, etc).
