Calling this done after 3 evenings, had fun working with wood and leather since most of my folio is metal or concrete :) I was looking at some of the Skull & Bones cinematic assets and got a little inspired. If I was gonna do it over, I think I'd sink even more time into the leather material and emphasise the bit of…
I've yet to find an easy way to bulge a surface (bend it in 2 directions) whilst holding the boundary edges. Is there a good technique for doing this? Ps Are there any other programs that have a tool for doing this?
I'm interested in using Topogun for creating cleaner topology. ZBrush retopology tools are adequate, but for me at least they have a habit of producing sloppily organized and extraneous vertices, with weak tools for fine-tuning them. Problem is, Topogun hasn't been updated in like two years, and their forums are dead.…
[I posted this on the Quixel dDo forum, but I'm not sure what hours they keep. I'm double dipping just in case someone here can help me better understand this] Hey, I'm having an issue and maybe it is just me not understanding the software correctly. I'm working on a project where I loaded up (in addition to the required…
Start off with a procedural texture as a template. They are easy to make, they tile perfectly, they are a good guide to start painting over. Because they're procedural you can iterate quickly and test out how the pattern tiles without a lot of middle work. Both max and maya have procedural wood materials, you can also…
Hi! Texture-wise, I think the normal maps look a bit too intense. What's your texture creation process like? Perhaps look at some scanned and processed surfaces for reference/ visual benchmark (Megascans, Polyhaven). Also make sure you have sufficient texel density, I think walls might be a bit low res. Looking at the…
