[I posted this on the Quixel dDo forum, but I'm not sure what hours they keep. I'm double dipping just in case someone here can help me better understand this]
Hey, I'm having an issue and maybe it is just me not understanding the software correctly.
I'm working on a project where I loaded up (in addition to the required maps) a Diffuse map I had created.
When I'm in the Material editor the box next to the masking button is unticked and my Diffuse (wood texture) shows, but the spec and gloss are too strong. If I try and go in and turn them down nothing happens, it stays the same in Photoshop and in Marmoset Skyshop.
Example of the problem I typed above:
When I tick the box the Diffuse (wood texture) disappears and I can see only the materials in the project. At this point when I make spec and gloss changes they show in Photoshop and Marmoset Skyshop. They are closer to the values I am looking for, like so:
So I can't actually see what my result looks like with my texture applied because it won't update when I have it active. Am I misunderstanding something? Am I supposed to do something else to get the Diffuse (wood texture) I created to work properly with the map and material changes so it can update in Photoshop and Marmoset Skyshop? Should I have loaded my Diffuse into one of the custom layers instead of loading it up through the Automation Hub at the start of the project? Was I supposed to create a spec/gloss for the Diffuse (wood texture) before I brought it into dDo?
If anyone can shed some light on the matter it would help me out. I may just be doing something dumb or not understanding an issue.

Wouldn't it be better to let it handle all of it and them come in with your previous Diffuse and layer them up?
