Subdivision sketch: cylindrical grip. This is a brief overview of a couple ways to streamline poly modeling and a quick visual comparison of a few high poly workflows. There's a lot of different ways to approach poly modeling but most artists usually start out with the basics: inserting primitives, cutting in edges, then…
Note, the Dynamesh number is relative. It depends on the size of the subtool. Small subtool at 100 dynamesh would be totally destroyed. Whereas very very big subtool dynameshed at 100 might still be too dense.
If you use dynamesh, create seperate polygroups and turn on dynameshing with groups. It will split the mesh into a few seperate closed meshes. You can then use another dynamesh to weld them to the hand again once you split them.
I need to transfer UV from initial low poly to dynameshed mesh from Zbrush . I usually use Data Transfer modifier in Blender for this . It sometimes does subtle mistakes around UV seams but usually it still works fine for further detailing in Zbrush . Gemini tells me 3d max got a massive update in 2026.1 version and now…
Hi, Why isn't Sculptris Pro mode popular between artists and they usually tend to use Dynamesh? In Dynamesh unwanted fusion between close distances in very annoying. You need to increase the Dynamesh resolution to avoid unwanted fusion but more resolution makes some big deformations to the model much more difficult.
Ok, so use dynamesh if you continue to get stretching. You want your models to have the same poly density across the entire mesh. Dynamesh will do this. Just take your current triangle shape and run dynamesh on it, play with the various settings to see it's effects.
Try turning down the polish setting with Dynamesh, that may save your fingers and toes. Also, you can spread them out a little bit via transpose tool before the Dynamesh, then when you are done with the dynameshing process move them back closer together.
Make a copy of the detailed bust, dynamesh the copy to a body, and then project the detail from the original bust to the dynamesh. edit: Actually, just activating the Project setting in the Dynamesh menu should preserve the details from the original well enough. I'd still keep a copy of the original in case you need to…
I really wish they would implement a dynamesh master style plug-in integrated into Zbrush itself. The adaptive dynamesh is fantastic and super quick but I really dislike working with the resolution slider if I can avoid it.. Maybe dynamesh master will get an update to support that. Maybe I should post that in that thread.
I can't really judge without seeing the topology, I can see that it looks pretty faceted for something that has ~2m points though so maybe dynameshing would be worth it. I cannot speak for anyone else but you took this a lot further than I think you should have if you were just going to dynamesh it. Typically I only…
