Hi I have a question regarding editing chanel layers in photoshop for a DOTA 2 mask I need to darken a meatal area in the green layer for Rim lighting in DOTA 2 engine but all I seem to be able to do is delete aspects of the chanel e.g. delete red and blue and the image is left with green. Do I edit each layer or do I…
I'm having trouble in creating a over-exposed look in Max. In another word, to make part of the diffuse texture brighter than its own. I tried the following: make material 100 self-illuminating use composite map for diffuse put diffuse map on the base layer of the composite map put light map in multiply mode on 2nd layer…
I very much remember this :) I thought it was really impressive given that it had a full-on animated character, a smooth 3D engine, and your instantly recognizable texturing style of course. What was the demo/game made with ? 20 years later It's very cool to see that handpainting is finally making a visible comeback…
Bad: Darth Vader "Knighting" the dude. Lame. Good: The environments! Love the reflections on everything. Good: How he holds his saber behind his back and nonchalantly deflects laser blasts. Bad: Gameplay? What else is there besides throwing people?
Thread revival! I'm going to keep working through the night on this and hopefully finish the hi-res before sleep. Things left: - arms - fix laces on the floppy shoe - final polish on the clothes - fancy wrist watch - pogo stick - laser gun
1) not big enough. 2) Fake guns? please. 3) Slow topspeed and no jump ability (no jetpacks either!) 4) not bullet/laser/rocket/slingshot proof 5) no anti-tow cable countermeasures built into the legs i'd still commute to work in it
We’ve all been there. You find a "bargain" 3D studio or a freelancer with a killer ArtStation, but three weeks later, you’re the one staying up until 2 AM fixing non-manifold geometry and flipped normals. The truth? The hidden cost to make a video game isn't the initial invoice — it’s the "rework tax." If you’re a Lead…
Why not simply use the Detach tool in Element sub-object? "channel or layer" ... These two words have specific meaning in 3ds Max. I think you mean "separate object" instead. You're detaching an Element into a new Object. "Channel" is used in Max for UV Channel (though it may be in use elsewhere too, less often). "Layer"…
I was nearing the end of Dark Souls 3 recently and so badly wanted to create a dark looking knight character. So this is the result! I have posted my process here to display how my vector style begins and finishes. First I start with just a traditional drawing in my sketchbook. I may end up drawing a character a few…
Not entirely sure if you have done this already but for dDo; Iterative batch processing. Create many variations of the same texture by incrementing (layers/functions/). So lets say you want several crates made with differing levels of damage. Once you have the base material sorted in dDo, It then creates variations of that…
