If you are working with 3dsmax there is an option for texture filtering and prefered rendersizes , i think by default it´s something like 256*256 and you have to change it yourself(this is only for viewport if i´m not mistaken) But it looks like maya... do you get the same results if you render the image?
Hi! Things you can try to get your hands dirty: * Bi-monthly challenge (any challenge really). Why it helps: fixed duration, concepts to work off, others potentially doing the same subject with perhaps different approach, gives reason to think about and articulate workflows. Fill additional parameters like style-specifics…
Okay I am going to be honest and harsh. Only pieces that are worth keeping are the Sig, Wood stump, and hydra, and... maybe the Wood floor + fan cobblestone. Shibuya South Exit Environment UE4 * Looks empty * Looks rushed * Overtly minimal * Overall lacking detail * Various items look last gen or older UE4 Sci-Fi Alley…
basically you're hitting the problem of how unreal renders things. opaque materials are rendered using a differred renderer which allows you to have lots of lights and nice shading etc. translucent materials are still rendered using a forward renderer which makes the much more expensive, difficult to sort and generally not…
Hopefully I can deepen your understanding a bit. For the most part you are close to the truth. The items you're 100% correct on I've omitted from the quote. Regarding realtime lighting and shadows: Realtime shadows do require running vertex processing and draw calls for all of the meshes that the light affects. The way…

For those of you who are not with us at Siggraph, here is a quick video I made to show IRay in action. [vv]136133189[/vv] As the video is accelerated so I could show a bit…
Hi all — I’m developing a custom 3D framework inspired by sixth-generation console visuals (think PSP / early PS2). I’m looking to commission two clean, animation-ready humanoid base meshes — one male and one female — that I can use as the foundation for clothing and character variants. Project Overview The meshes will…
I work under Maya 2009-64 bits. I am rendering some occlusion map and would like to improve my work-flow. __________________________________________________________________ My first problem is about connection between objects. I noted that : if I do not connect objects together, work with piece of puzzle for building my…
