oh, i remember that pipe: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138075 tbh i'd charge 12 bux for a pipe like that, and it's not like bare-bones indie folk have a big next-gen freelance market anyways (i think?)
Tobbo: Thanks! But one thing that still bothers me is the polycount. Isn't 603 polys too low for a game prop like this? I mean isn't it too lowpoly for today next-gen modern stuff? What do you think guys?
I think it's mainly a gen3 concession. This project was started in a time when gen4 adoption rates were still uncertain so they probably wanted to play safe and do it for both gen 3 and 4, which means some sacrifices need to be made.
Phenomenal work! I'm not a big fan of the lines in the texture style found in the game Borderlands, but it looks fantastic on your guitar guy. And if that bird character was your first next gen character then I'd love to see your next one because it's terrific.
That'd be your archetypal Gothic town house. You would have seen buildings just like this in any number of fantasy games. Looks good so far TGZ. What sort of stats are you working towards for the next gen system?

Hiya guys. Great website. Stumbled on this site doing some research and thought I's sign up. My first question. Im currently modelling a USP Handgun model and could do with your expert advice. How many Tris would you guys reccomend for current gen? 500? 1000? Not poly's......tris. Much appriciated. Break.
How to model/ what's technique generally used to model an eye for a next-gen game char? i read some tutorial that i need to copy the whole eye, scale it up a bit (put 100% opacity & reflection) to get a realistic light reflection. can it be applied for a game model? or it's completely different to do a game eye?? thx
Hi guys, Here is my new recreation of this newest droid from Star Wars. It was rendered in Marmoset, polycount on this is more current gen, definitely can be lower if it's meant for mobile, but that's not what I am aiming for. C & C are always welcome.
