Right now your lighting is ruining your scene. If you squint your eyes, everything blends together and there is no real focal point. Yea, the train has a brighter light behind it, but there is no contrast from that part of your scene to the right part of the scene, so it ends up muddying everything up. Also I feel if your…
Thanks all There's a few nice things we can do with the lighting and shadows, but it's all too much work to change everytime i work on a prop or scene... at the end, the lighting would be changed again to match the other scenes anyway. As for my screenshots, they're simple editor screengrabs, often with post effects off as…
A V G The following art and other content is from a game project I've been occupied with for about 4-5 years now. In short, the game is antinatalism themed and has a quite pessimistic story. It would have various settings, from Earth in the near future (not shown in this post) to various alien planets and megastructures in…

I've been working on a project for 3d model's steampunk new history competition (located here if your interested in it https://3dmodels.org/steampunk-new-history/ ) I decided to go with a steampunk batmobile, located in a Victorian Gotham. I've been working on it the last month or so for a few hours every night. Here's a…
Yes it's part two, part one I'll post on here too (soon), it seems I'm bringing them both up roughly at the same time. Part two, is a Hangar/Diner type scene, It'll have both interior and exterior showing. The Hangar (as i simply call it) has a mountain on one side, and other than the runway it has a giant wall surrounding…
Hello I'm Ryan and I plan to make a career change. Doing 2D art for 5 years now, i have dabbled in freelance work but it never grew to make me stop doing my night-shift work in the weekends. I have been stagnating about 3-4 months between each new art piece I make and that rate of productivity is making me doubt my…
With the 4.04 update, Toolbag's backend switched from DX11 to DX12, and this had some performance and memory management implications. We also switched from Nvidia Optix to the DXR ray-tracing backend that is built in DX12. Generally, you should see improved ray tracing performance (render speed) but the memory use for the…
I'm always happy to see more scenes based on Manicomio di Racconigi. It's an awesome place. I especially like the leaves you have scattered all over the floor and on the props. It adds a lot of life to the scene. The wall material is pretty sweet too and it's accurate to the reference. I'm curious how you made the gauges…
If it's not happening during specific actions it's difficult to guess why the application would crash. Is your scene very complex? Many meshes with lots of dense geometry and/or many high resolution textures? Lots of lights? If you're running out of video memory that may be the reason for the crashes. Having the scale set…
