Hi all, I've recently been studying texture mapping techniques in Pokemon maps, I found that rooms are made of many many smaller texture maps rather than one big Atlas, I know this is to do with the texture map size limitation but I found in the current switch game that the rooms tend to be made the same way with lots of…
So I have this issue at work, I will come in to work and log into my computer and all my desktop icons are randomly shoved over to a single monitor. This also happens when you unplug one of your monitors. Any ways, this was getting really frustrating it started happening every morning for a while and I never turn my…
I use UVLayout because it's hotkey driven and speeds up my workflow. Different software for different things for sure, but with UVLayout and iPackthat, uvmapping in Max seems so archaic.
As you can see I have a plant with one main sheet that has been duplicated multiple times. My main questions are about: 1) using the UV space. Should I stretch that sheet out? Also I'd like to ask about methods for changing the ratio of the UV template. The only way I've known is to eye-ball it by stretching the sheet out…
Concerning overlapping uv's: Generally, if there are some complex interactions I want to capture, then I'll create a secondary uv set and layout your uv's as effeciently as possible (use wahtever automatic settings you can). Bake your Ao's to that map and paint on your overlapping. I know how maya can combine multiple maps…
If you posess a licensed UVLayout USB-dongle - nobody will ban you from using it! :) The "out of the box" UV tools of Maya or Max are incomparably petty. Using third-party script or plugins really makes working better - but not THAT RADICALLY as UVLayout does. IMHO.
Hello, I was making an object by starting it with 2 different objects and my plan was to join them together in the end. So I did all the modelling and then I uv-unwrapped them while they were still 2 single objects. In the end I wanted to join them together as a single one, so they keep the unwrapping but sharing the same…
UVLayout is simply the most cutting-edge unwraping tool. Just think of some functionality - and voila - it is already implemented in uvlayout. Simply fantastic and outstanding tool. BUT! You'll have to invest some time to learn all the operations and hotkeys, because it's interface is a real HARDCORE.
Completed the cupboard! (The plane object in the cupboard's doors will have a glass texture applied later) Cupboard's Texel Density (Lower cabinet's interior is lower resolution as i do not have enough space in my UV layout and decided to have those cabinets either slightly open or closed) Cupboard's UV Layout (4K…
You have been so great; I just want to ask another question: On a model some of the pieces are mirrored to the other side. I want to achieve high resolution by making use of much of the space in the UV layout. Do you include the mirrored geometry on the UV layout; for example, if I was modelling a car with 4 wheels, would…
