The "toon Shaded" version of Legend of Zelda has now been acknowledged by it's creator to have been in error. Actually they said they wanted to show the world of the young Link in a different tone than the world of the old Link. Whether that's ass-covering I don't know but the explaination does make sense. I'm pretty sure…
My workflow I think is slowed by 8 gigs of horrible RAM and a terrible GPU when your high poly is so choppy you need to hide some parts and when Cryengine is running at 50 fps in a scene with hardly anything in it on low :(
Engines. You get what you pay for. Has C4 ever shipped a commercial game published worldwide? AMP and AMP II have shipped 3 full blown first person shooters, and many smaller applications. It's a complete engine that has stood the test of time. Gore shipped almost 5 years ago and still has over 100 people playing online,…
Here's a screenshot of my normal map and when 3DO is on nothing shows up. If I refresh nothing happens, Now here the same texture but with a different save handle "BaseMaterial [Normal].psd". Now 3DO takes in the normal. Butttt...... When I make a displacement map nothing shows up again..
Hello. Studying 3D graphics and for my "do what you want" project I've chosen an UDK environment. Specifically, Caspar David Friedrich's "Monastery Graveyard in the Snow" as a game environment. This is pretty daunting, but I need some game stuff in my portfolio (which is very weak overall.) I'm a complete noob to this, so…
OK, since we always get people coming and asking for links of applications to start modeling or doing digital art, This sticky is going to be for any and all free or very low cost 3D and 2D applications you can think of or find. 3D Applications [*]Wings3D [*]Blender [*]Silo (this one isn't free, but very low cost) [*]…
toron: Just keep logging the hours , thats all thats involved, if you want to learn to be good at anything just start by being slow and awkward and make your way toward good. Wiruz: Well, why would you need zbrush to model a lowpoly bumpy brick? It's easy to do again by hand and unwrap, or its easier still to think ahead…
Just a tripod thing I made a while ago. Wanted to post it in low-poly thread first, but it's not low-poly enough I think. Plus the texture is 1024x1024. made in Blender btw. 1226 polies.
Here's my attempt at quake 3 model. First low poly character and 2nd lowpoly texturing. The difuse is 1024*1024. There is still some work to do about shoulder and shield in the animation and also some uv borders to clean. I'll try to fix it soon. There's also a big problem with the right elbow, you can see the hole when…
I have a workflow question. I am working on a scene with a lot of low level assets. Mostly boxes, crates, mirrors, picture frames, etc. The assets are different enough that I cannot build them modularly. I have talked to several folks and they say where they work there is not enough time to make a high poly and…
