Using Mental Ray Renderer - Where is the option to see how many cores 3DS Max is using to Render? And, to assign more Cores if not using all. I know where to find it Maya, just struggling to locate in 3DS Max. Currently using i7 3930k 6core - Overclocked to 4.1ghz.
maybe you're using a biped, biped acts crazy in max when saveng (dont really remember) but this can bloat your max file enormously(once had a 300mb max file because of biped)

A real dirtmap is a map that works based on the angle of the surface. Completely planar surfaces will have no dirt, and the more angled the crevice, the more dirt it will have. Hey all, I've encountered this problem in other versions of max but I seem to get it all the time in 2010. The verts either become huge or shrink down to a pixel. It's annoying the hell out of me. Resetting Max brings them back to normal so I'm thinking it's a shortcut. Does anyone know how to toggle the verts back? Cheers
