Hi everyone, I've been struggling to remake the high poly for the computer terminal environment prop I posted recently so I decided rather than waste countless more hours on it I should start remaking the second character I ever made as I never quite finished it, and with college time constraints on me I never brought it…
I dont see why the admins dont ban greevar yet. He is an obvious troll who benefits Polycount in no way shape or form as a community. If he wants to go have discussions on copyright law where he just says everyone in the world is wrong but him then he should do it somewhere else. If you dont have anything of value to offer…
insufferable bunch (i agree with the quote btw, on your side with that point.). but it is true regular people who dont give 2chits where the game came from as long as it runs and is fun... maybe one day when its all give me money to press start every time will they wake up. maybe. Yeah, just a bunch of money grabbers, so…
Hey, guys. Thanks for all the feedback. I agree, if you heard about the job through a recruiter then it does seem shady to go around them. I've been contacted in the past for positions I never knew about, but I couldn't figure out what the benefit was for using a recruiter with an already advertised position (especially a…
Hey guys ~ I don't post here very often anymore, but I got permission to show all this so I figured I'd throw it here. This was a job I did recently for the indie game Sunset. This was a fun exercise in time management and pressure from deadlines tighter than I've dealt with in the past, and a way to get back into doing 3d…
I feel not enough emphasis is put on the fact that as a game developer, you are an employee, and as an employee, you are responsible for doing quality work in the most efficient, effective way possible. Gav posted this the other day and got me thinking: @GavinGoulden - "What do you put first? Game Dev? Artist? Or a healthy…
I've dabbled in a few things back in the day, purely recreational and never for art purposes. The reason i'm posting is I used to fantasize about this notion too as a kid, that drugs would make you more "creative". A lot of that stemmed from my parents hailing from the hippy generation and I heard Jimi Hendrix talked up…
I'd say those are the next steps, to work on the lighting and rendering post processes. Otherwise, you've got something that's around a Toy Story 1 era fidelity instead of Incredibles 2. You should look into the previous years' posts of environment art. There's a wealth of information there you can learn from.
Greetings one and all, I thought I would start posting the assets I am working on for a largish mountain scene I am working on. Still not 100% sure in the direction so I decided to develop an asset library until I finalize my concept (which wont be pretty but it will do the job :D ) Here is a well I have been working on…
Hey polycount! I'd like to greet you all as I'll stay here for a while. A bit about me: I've graduated last year, during my course I've done few props, some animation, environment, unifinished character, even participated in quixel challenge... all that was enough to get high 2:1 which only ever proves that grades in art…
